Don’t be too fooled by the title of this Substack. The Existential Reader does not offer “deep dives” into the works of philosophers such as Kierkegaard or Sartre, nor does it spend too much time contemplating the meaning of life (though that line of thought does make an occasional appearance). Instead, The Existential Reader aims to make sense of twenty-first century life and the reality of living in a failed society.

Lighter topics are available, including film and literary criticism, and the occasional poem or short story.

Paid subscribers (£5 per month) will receive The Existential Reader Manifesto upon signing up, The Existential Reader magazine, sent out at the end of each month, as well as having access to The Existential Listener podcast.
