The Existential Reader Podcast

Dear readers,

I’m excited to announce the launch of The Existential Reader podcast. The podcast will be the perfect companion to the essays, reflections, and musings that I share in the newsletter. Each episode will delve deeper into the themes that drive The Existential Reader—from existentialism and hauntology, to culture, film, literature, and, of course, the new strains of alienation in our changing world.

What to Expect:

• Topical Stories: In every episode, I’ll break down the big news stories that reflect or challenge existentialist ideas.

• Thematic Explorations: Each show will focus on a specific existential theme or case study—the debut episode will kick off with an analysis of Sartre’s concept, essence precedes existence.

• Book & Film Reviews: I’ll be reviewing literature, cinema, and music through The Existential Reader’s hauntological and existentialist outlook.

• Existential Vibes: To end each episode, I’ll feature an existential quote to ruminate on.

While the Substack newsletter will remain the heart of The Existential Reader, where I continue to share thought-provoking essays, poetry, and reflections, the podcast will expand on these ideas in audio form. This way, whether you're reading or listening, you’ll always be connected to the ideas we explore together. Consider the podcast a more dynamic companion—a chance to go deeper or hear things framed a little differently.

Community Building: The Reading & Writing Groups
In addition to the podcast and newsletter, I’m aiming to launch both a Reading Group and a Writers’ Group for subscribers who want interested in existentialism and literature. If you're keen to engage with others who share your interests, exchange ideas, or workshop your writing, these groups will be a valuable space for collaboration and discussion, where we’ll dissect works of literature, explore how existentialism manifests in different media, and critique each other's writing in an open and supportive environment.

I made this decision as it is imperative for me, as it for all of us, to generate income.
